Waffles with Strawberries

I love to wake up to waffles on a Saturday morning after a long week if school. These waffles will make your mornings better and keep you going until lunch break! At home we use a panini press with waffle plates. Hope you enjoy these basic waffles.

Makes 16 mini waffles.

Ingredients:

For the waffles:

- 2 1/4 cups flour

- 2 tbsp sugar

- 1 tbsp baking powder

- 1/2 tsp baking soda

- 1/2 tsp salt

- 2 cups milk

- 1/3 cup vegetable oil

- 2 large eggs

For the strawberries:

- 2 cups strawberries

- 1/3 cup sugar (optional)

Procedure:

Mix the ingredients in a large mixing bowl until smooth. Put the batter in waffle press for 3 minutes each. We used Cuisineart Griddler with waffle plates which makes 16 mini waffles with this recipe.

Cut up the strawberries into bite sized chunks and put them into a storing container with the sugar.

Serve fresh waffles with maple syrup and sweetened strawberries!
