This June, instead of doing a cookout, we decided to help another charitable group, Care 4 Kids in their endeavor to fundraise for Seattle Children’s Hospital. C4K is a charity foundation that hosts events to raise money for the Neurological Department in Seattle Children’s Hospital. The department works to provide to children and families who struggle to afford to pay for their medical bills and invest in research against uncured diseases. Last Saturday, June 8, they hosted their Alice in Wonderland fundraiser event, and they asked us to provide food. My family and I made a three-course meal, that consisted of an Asian Salad as an appetizer, Bahn Mi for a main course, and Tapioca Pudding for dessert. We prepared the ingredients and on Saturday at noon, headed to the house where the fundraiser was held. We prepared the food at the house and set the finger snacks at their station. Unfortunately, we had to leave before guests arrived, as we had family coming over. However, we had a blast making the food, knowing we were helping families who depended on the donations that came with the food.
